Scott's New Friend
Scott welcomes his new friend into the family. The addition to the clan is a custom-made Vigier Excalibur Surfreter
fretless guitar with metal fingerboard. We'll be seeing (and hearing) lots of great things from Scott and his
Vigier in the future, so stay tuned!
The Sound
Welcome to the web site of Scott McGill, progressive guitarist. Mixing a complex blend of heavy fusion, jazz, classical,
and progressive rock, Scott sets a new standard for guitar virtuosity not often seen in today's world of overnight "rock
sensations" and studio-born lip-sync teen supergroups. His unique vision reaches far beyond the conventional formula to create
music that is destined to stand the test of time.
Scott and his bandmates, Grammy-nominated bassist Michael Manring and drummer Vic Stevens, create a high-energy,
high-density wall of blistering and
unapologetic jazz-rock fusion, which makes for a challenging and entertaining listen. Their live show retains that energy and more.

Dear Friends,
First of all, a belated Happy New Year to all of you and thank you for your continued support. Ritchie and I appreciate all of the positive feedback we've received about the FreakZoid disc. We believe it's our finest work yet (until our next one!). It's available here at www.scottmcgill.com and other major progressive and fusion music vendors.
Thank you also for the interest in my new book "The Arpeggio Compendium" which was originally started during my studies with Dennis Sandole and was recently edited and expanded including a few new chapters. This work would not have been possible without the hard work and invaluable help from my great friend Josh Sager.
I'd also like to tell you that my wife Meredith and I have made a decision to re-locate to Brighton/Hove in the United Kingdom in early February. I will be taking up an administrative/teaching position as Course Coordinator for the BA (Hons) at The Brighton Institute Of Modern Music. I am excited about this as an artist, husband, and father of a two and a half month old.
The move will mean that I will have to discontinue my monthly subscriber lessons but I will put up one final large lesson for those who are members of scottmcgill.com. I would like to thank all of the subscribers and I hope you enjoyed the material. If the service is re-introduced, I will announce it promptly. Otherwise, scottmcgill.com will continue as per usual and I can be reached here at any time.
This page along with all of our MySpace pages ("Scott McGill", "Ritchie DeCarlo", and "Freakzoid") will continue to supply all of the latest information on new music releases from us, and all future projects that are being created by us. There is plenty of new material coming up on the horizon and I believe that my work with drummer/producer/friend and band mate Ritchie DeCarlo is my best work yet. I will miss all of my friends and family but will be back to visit at various points throughout the year.
Thank you again for all of your support and kind words about our music and we hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Scott
FreakZoid
